About 23rd [and Fourth]:
With a mother-daughter duo at the helm, 23rd [and Fourth] has served luxury residential interior design clients in the Capital and Adirondack Regions since 2012. With a combined experience spanning over 20 years, Janet Longe and Jamie Davies approach design in a distinctive way, dovetailing modern lines with traditional elements while utilizing their deliberately diverse arsenal of vendors to serve their clients well.
With an eye for design for as long as she can remember, it was just a matter of time before Janet Longe opened up her own design studio, with a showroom attached. In 2012, a lifelong dream became 23rd [and Fourth], an interior design and fine furnishings business she co-owns with daughter Jamie Davies, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Longe’s approach to interior design is anything but one-note, as she consistently blends distinct styles and design genres within the same space to create unexpected, stunning results. Thanks in part to her background in graphic design, Longe expertly pairs colors, shapes and textures that are aesthetically pleasing, yet fresh.
Longe, Allied ASID, LEED AP, has a degree in interior design from Sage College of Albany. She specializes in residential design and custom furniture, but also offers commercial services. As her father was one of the founding partners of MLB Construction Services, LLC, originally headquartered in Albany County, she grew up around job sites, watching architects, construction crews and designers hard at work.
With a background in marketing, management and business, Jamie Davies keeps things at 23rd [and Fourth] running smoothly, while overseeing expansion efforts. But don’t let her MBA in management and leadership from Dowling College fool you—she loves interior design, fabric swatches and custom furniture just as much as her mom, Janet Longe.
If she’s not at the shop, helping customers choose the perfect home accessory, then she’s in the design studio, working side-by-side with Longe to design a client’s dream space and bring it to life. For Davies, it’s all about making the design process personal—getting to know each client, understanding their needs and then delivering a great solution. By the time a project comes to a close, she counts them as friends.
A longtime Saratoga – Capital Region resident, Davies holds a bachelor’s in marketing and management from Siena College. She and her husband have two small children, so she has an avid eye for designing livable spaces that are relatively kid-proof—which can mean plenty of Scotchgard and scratch-friendly surfaces.
Before opening 23rd [and Fourth] with Longe in 2012, Davies had a successful career in the insurance industry.
